WWW Wednesday 9/11

Welcome back to Another WWW Wednesday!

As always our wonderful host is Sam over at Taking on a World of Words

This is pretty simple, all you have to do is answer the following three questions:

What did you just finish reading?

What are you currently reading?

What do you plan on reading next?

What did you just finish reading?

After the Flood by Kassandra Montag

Click the pic for my review 😘

After the Flood takes place in the future after the Hundred Year Flood leaves most of the Earth covered in water. The story follows Myra as she tries to find her eldest daughter by navigating the new seas while still protecting her youngest.

What are you currently reading?

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

I’m not going to give you a synopsis because I feel like everyone knows about this book 😂

I just got to Page 142 and I wish I could have kept reading! I feel like something new happens in every chapter and I am never bored with what is happening. I am LOVING this book.

What do I plan on reading next?

This is such a hard question for me because I am a mood reader and like to plan BIG TBR lists. Which, if you read my September tbr post you understand 😂

But, I would like to read…

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss—a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten—by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family.

What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare—one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Writing to her lawyer from prison, she struggles to explain the unravelling events that led to her incarceration. It wasn’t just the constant surveillance from the cameras installed around the house, or the malfunctioning technology that woke the household with booming music, or turned the lights off at the worst possible time. It wasn’t just the girls, who turned out to be a far cry from the immaculately behaved model children she met at her interview. It wasn’t even the way she was left alone for weeks at a time, with no adults around apart from the enigmatic handyman, Jack Grant.

It was everything.

She knows she’s made mistakes. She admits that she lied to obtain the post, and that her behavior toward the children wasn’t always ideal. She’s not innocent, by any means. But, she maintains, she’s not guilty—at least not of murder. Which means someone else is.

What are you currently reading? Let me know or post the link to your WWW Wednesday below!

Happy Wednesday and happy reading!

XO, Shannon

September Wrap Up!

Hey there wormies! I missed you! No, truly, I did.

Since I’m new to this whole book blogging thing I figured I would just do what all the other cool book blogs are doing…for now.

It seems that at the end of the month we are required to report to you wonderful readers (and wormies) what we read this month and what we thought about these books.

I’m going to start off by saying that I have only completed 2 books this month :(. When I went back through my Read books on Goodreads, I was completely and utterly shocked.

Without further ado here are some stats on my completed books:

Books read: 2

Pages read: 528 pages

5 stars: 1

4 stars: 0

3 stars: 0

2 stars: 1

1 star: 0

Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed

Rating: 5 stars

I honestly cannot give this book enough praise. The majority of my month was spent devouring this book. Now, you are probably thinking, “If you liked it so much by bookish Queen why did it take you so long to read?” The answer is simple, I needed a lot of time to process and think about each individual letter. You can read more about my thoughts here: Book Review: Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed

The Second Season by Heather Chapman

Rating: 2 stars

I don’t even want to begin to go into what I thought about this book. I had such high hopes for it considering it was a romance-esque book set in the Regency period. However, I was highly disappointed. I will go into more detail about this book and my thoughts behind it in a review later this week.

I am currently reading the Atlantis Gene. I tried to finish it before the month ended, but that just didn’t happen. I’m over halfway done though!

I plan on reading tons of books in October. Watch out for my October TBR in the next couple of days to see what I have up my sleeve 😉

Until Next Time,
